Co-founders Angelica Dill and I, Trey Gordon, have signed up for ADA Coordinator Training conference in August. This conference is required if we want to become certified ADA Coordinators so that we can advocate the community through the ADA law. We’ll be sure to share our lessons and experiences with you all to support our communities!

Remember our funeral home letters that we wrote and sent online explaining about meeting and providing reasonable accommodations and to remind funeral homes about the ADA law? We’ve sent the letter to all funeral homes in Birmingham. We intend to send it out to all funeral homes all over the state. We’ve made it a priority to finish this—we want every funeral home to have this letter. We want to thank Beth Overland for translating the letter into ASL so that everyone has the option to read the letter or watch it instead via ASL. We want to make sure that everyone has access during their tough moments in their lives. You deserve access.

Remember our name sign contest that we hosted two months ago? [The sign for Adjacent Space] We were featured on Alabama NewsCenter! We were thrilled to share our mission and story to the public! We want to thank Alabama NewsCenter for an opportunity to tell about our organization!

On April 23, we hosted our Think Tank session! We want to thank everyone who came! Perspectives, opinions, and suggestions were fascinating and appreciated! We look forward to working with ideas and suggestions that were offered!

Later this summer Adjacent Space will host the Summer Captioned Drive-in Movie event. If you are interested in sponsoring our event, contact us! If your company or organization wants to sponsor us, we have a sponsorship level list for you to look through! We’d love to hear from you!

We hope you have a great May! See you later!
